How scoring works: Points come from (1) prerequisite course grades — science courses are worth double non-science, and the highest attempt counts per ASOM 3.02 — and (2) one approved optional credential, normally +5. Entrance exam points are not calculated here. Each program weights the TEAS differently and the conversion is not published in the User Guide; refer the student to the program chair. Seats go to the highest total scores in each selection round.
This tool shows where a student stands — it does not predict admission. Score ceilings are the maximum points available, not a cutoff. Cutoffs move every cycle with the applicant pool.

How should they rank their choices?
The application takes up to 3 programs and 3 campuses. The order changes the outcome — independently of the score.
How selection actually works (User Guide, Attachment C):
applications are sorted by score and checked against each student's first choice first.
If that program and campus still has seats, an offer goes out. If it's full, the system looks at the
second choice. If neither has room, it moves on to the next-highest-scored application and repeats.
So a realistic second choice is worth more than a second long shot — and a choice the student
can't apply to yet is a slot that can't produce anything.
What happens after the rankings
Worth walking a student through — these are the rules people get caught by.
- Offers arrive by Ivy Tech email at 6:00 AM. The student has until 11:59 PM the next day to accept or reject. No response and it expires.
- Reject or let an offer expire three times and that program+campus is dropped from the selection pool. From round four on, that's enforced.
- Accepting an offer withdraws every other application — all programs, all campuses, immediately.
- Offers are not transferable between campuses. The student completes the program where they were accepted.
- Withdrawing an application is permanent for that cycle. They can reapply next cycle, starting over.
- An applicant who receives no offer may reapply next cycle — every step has to be completed again.

Qualifying specialties for Transition to ASN
From the User Guide, Attachment B. A student with one of these already holds the credential that makes them eligible for the Transition pathway — the fastest route to RN in the catalogue.
Why this matters: Transition to ASN requires an existing credential —
LPN, CMA, Paramedic or military medic. A veteran who qualifies here can skip the
Practical Nursing step that civilian applicants often have to take first. It's the single
highest-value thing to check when a veteran walks in.

The credential only counts once it's documented. The route differs by branch.
⚑ The full MOS crosswalk isn't built
Deliberately — here's why, and what to do meanwhile.
A veteran carrying three or four MOSs wants to know what all of them are worth,
across every program. That mapping doesn't exist in any source this tool has. ACE credit
recommendations and the college's own crosswalk work sit with the
MCPL committee.
A guessed crosswalk would be worse than none. Someone would act on it — enrolling on the assumption that four years of service already covers a requirement, and finding out at graduation audit that it doesn't. So this tool says "unknown" rather than inventing an answer, the same way it refuses to convert a TEAS score.
Until then: submit the Joint Services Transcript for evaluation and advise from what actually posts to the Ivy Tech transcript. Evaluated credit appears in the course checklist like any other transfer work — and scores as S/Pass/TR: 10 points for a science, 5 for non-science, not as an A.
